The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is in discussions with FC Barcelona about a sponsorship deal. The deal would involve the DRC’s tourism promotion logo appearing on Barcelona’s jerseys, specifically on the back of training and warm-up kits for both the men’s and women’s teams.

The agreement is expected to be worth around 40 million euros over four years, with 10-11.5 million euros annually. The aim is to promote the DRC as “the heart of Africa”.

“The contract with Barcelona, seen on Thursday by the news agency, is dated June 29 and stipulates that a logo branding the war-hit Central African country as the “heart of Africa” will appear on the backs of training and warm-up jerseys for the men’s and women’s teams.
