Davido, the celebrated Afrobeats artist, has been inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the body behind the Grammy Awards—marking a major milestone in his career and for African music on the global stage.
As a voting member, he will now participate in the nomination and decision processes for the 2026 Grammys. In a statement, Davido said he’s honoured to help shape what music gets celebrated—an opportunity he sees as a “game-changer.”
