A recent study reveals that standard Wi-Fi networks can now identify people based on how their bodies disturb wireless signals, even when they’re not carrying a phone or tablet. Using a system dubbed “WhoFi,” researchers analysed channel state information (CSI)—how Wi-Fi waves bounce off objects and bodies—and achieved identification accuracy of up to 95.5%.
